FOXBORO — Contrary to Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer’s insinuation, the Patriots didn’t maintain a light-weight over quarterback Will Grier’s head and grill him about his time in Dallas’ offense this week.
Schottenheimer stated his staff would change hand alerts this week out of concern that Grier and working again Ezekiel Elliott — each ex-Cowboys — can be “interrogated” by Patriots coaches.
“They didn’t interrogate me at all,” Grier stated. Just one other week. Watch tape and attempt to get a win.”
The veteran quarterback stated Elliott, who joined the Patriots in August, has helped him get acclimated to his new staff briefly order.
Grier joined the Patriots final Thursday after being signed off of the Bengals’ follow squad. He served because the Patriots’ emergency third quarterback in Sunday’s sport towards the Jets after only one follow.
“Football is football, so I would have been ready to go,” Grier stated if he was referred to as into motion Sunday. “It will officially be a week here in a few hours. I’ll be more ready to go this weekend.”
The 2019 third-round choose stated “it’s been great” working with starter Mac Jones and backup Bailey Zappe over the past seven days.
He has excessive hopes for the Patriots in 2023.
“I think they can be very good,” Grier stated. “I think the most important thing in this league is continuing to get better every week and play your best ball in December leading into the playoffs. And we definitely have an opportunity to do that. I’ve been really impressed with the work ethic of the team and their willingness to get better, get uncomfortable and get better. That’s going to matter down the stretch that we get better now every day.”
